A few weeks ago, I asked “Do You Really Need a Resume?” in a poll. Here’s what you said:

It would be interesting to ask this question in a year or so to see if the results are still the same. As technology takes a greater role in our lives, will something come along to replace it? But until then, keeping a current resume handy is still in your best interest.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the resume is dead. I believe that employers have such large pools of applicants, that they have the option of forgoing certain applications based on the criteria they feel they need, for instance distance or education. It’s up to employers to make the decision on who they need, and if they want to base it on something as ridiculous as distance, then they have that opportunity.

Thanks for the comment Lauren. I believe many applicants aren’t including their address on their resume. They don’t feel it’s relevant given the amount of telework that’s available.
