Call it telework, flexible work, whatever. It’s the hot topic du jour. So, I couldn’t resist sharing this infographic from Mercer and Column Five about flexible work arrangements.
One of the things I found interesting was the “summer hours” graphic. I could see how offering some sort of temporary change while kids are out of school as being very beneficial (and popular). I know several of my professional groups take a hiatus during the summer months for that same reason.
What do you think about the recent conversations about flexible work? Is telework destined to be abandoned in favor of more traditional working relationships? Share your thoughts in the comments.

This week is spring break for my kids so I worked from home most of the week and only went in on Wednesday to attend two meetings. One at the office and the other we went to Starbucks down the road. My kids are big so I actually don’t have to be home, but I wanted to. I couldn’t work where I couldn’t flex when I needed to. They also know that I put in a lot of hours when we have deadlines so it’s a give and take. The important thing to remember when you are the one who prefers a later start time than the majority is that donuts and Starbucks for the team on occasion makes everything better. 🙂

@Rochelle – Thanks for sharing. What did we do in business before Starbucks and donuts were invented? ha.ha. All I can say is let’s not find out.
