Today, a manager comes to your office. They tell you they’ve received approval to hire someone. They are very excited because it’s taken a long time to convince senior leadership to authorize this position.
Can you imagine replying, “It will take 95 days and $5,000 please.”?
Today’s infographic from SmartRecruiters shares some of the latest hiring statistics. I knew it was taking longer to find talent but, 95 days?! That’s a fiscal quarter. I’ve seen chief executive officers put on notice that they have one quarter to fix a failing organization. And now, companies can’t find the best talent in the same time frame.
One thing I did like about this infographic was the inclusion of a hashtag to share resources – #SmartSourcing. If you’re being faced with the challenges finding the best talent, it might be worth following the conversation.

Awesome graphic Sharlyn.
I think that 95 day figure should be alarming to a lot of companies. However, as an agency Recruiter who has dealt with some of the biggest organizations in Canada, I know first hand how messy, unfocused and downright illogical some companies can be when it comes to Recruitment strategies and finding good people.
The unfortunate thing is that every company is on the fritz with trying to saves dollars anywhere they can and yet Recruitment, the first stepping stone to finding and engaging good talent, is not given the respect or consideration it deserves as a division that could save companies big dollars.
Great blog as well. Be sure to check out mine as well: http://www.notesfromtherecruitmentdesk.blogspot.ca

Thanks for the comment Michael. You’re right – companies need to have focused recruitment processes or they are wasting their time and resources.
