Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day in commemoration of The Festival of Patrick. It’s considered a feast day and celebration of Irish culture. There are a number of traditions associated with St. Patty’s Day including dying rivers green, coloring historic landmarks green (usually with light) and, of course, drinking green beer.
Concocting the perfect shade out of a pale amber brew isn’t rocket surgery, but it’s not that simple either. Here’s a recipe from one of my fave food blogs, Serious Eats, on how you can make your own.
How do you plan to spend St. Patty’s Day? Leave a note in the comments. Me? It might not be completely Irish but, I’m craving a Rueben.

My husband has recently become enthralled with brewing beer. Four weeks ago we brewed 5 gallons of a pale ale. Two weeks ago we bottled it…with green food coloring. Tomorrow we will have friends over for Reubens, Reuben baked potatoes, Irish soda bread, shamrock cookies and GREEN BEER!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
