Find Out the Reason Employees Want to Transfer [poll results]
A week or so ago, I asked you to weigh in on whether exit interviews for department transfers was a good idea. Here’s what you said:
While the majority voted “yes”, the combined number of people on the fence and in the no category was noteworthy. One person commented that exit interviews could be valuable but maybe if they’re called something else. That I can completely understand. No one is going to trash talk their current supervisor or department.
I’m still not sure about exit interviews for department transfers but one thing is certain – companies need to understand why an employee wanted to make the change. Whether that’s via the internal interview process or an exit interview, finding out the reason is important.
