Maybe There’s a Use for QR Codes After All [poll results]

A couple weeks ago I asked the question, “Are QR codes still relevant?” Here’s what you said:

While QR codes (also known as quick response codes) continue to be maligned in certain circles, the majority of respondents said they have their place. Personally, I find them helpful in conference expo halls to download information. Less paper to carry around and schlep back to the office.

It does mean that you have to always have a QR code scanner available on your mobile device. This article has a list of the best QR code readers for iOS and Android devices. Most of these apps are free, so why not have a QR reader handy?

But let me also add a word of caution. Just because people are open to QR codes, it doesn’t mean that the answer to every problem should involve a QR code. I can’t help but wonder if one of the reasons that people are receptive to QR codes is because they are only used in just the right situations. And sparingly.

So, the next time you’re looking for a way to distribute information…maybe a QR code is in order?
