Quick Shots for #HR and #Business Pros – Resume Edition
I didn’t realize this, but September is “Update Your Resume Month”. It was started by Career Directors International. You can read the backstory here. Reviewing your resume on a regular basis is a good idea for several reasons:
- Your resume is more than a job search tool. I’ve been asked to submit my resume with consulting proposals and board positions.
- It’s easier to update. If you only look at your resume every couple years, there’s so much work to be done. If you review it every six months, it’s much easier to update.
- And you never know when you might get a call for that dream job. Be prepared. You don’t want to pull an all-nighter revising your resume. Case in point, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady shared his post-college, pre-NFL resume on Facebook.
