Quick Shots for #HR and #Business Pros – April 2014

quick, shots, HR, quick shots, April, Daniel Goleman, Leadership, Chicago

Next week, I’m looking forward to spending time at the annual SilkRoad Connections Conference in Chicago. I was reminded of this image that I took during my last trip to the Windy City. I’m also looking forward to attending this year’s WordCamp Miami. HR Bartender runs on a WordPress platform and this event is a great way for me to meet other bloggers and see what they’re doing.

Annoyed with your co-workers using their phones during a meeting? Here’s a list of mobile etiquette stats to share.

I’m trying to make better use of the features Microsoft OneNote offers. Did you know these 10 things about OneNote?

Not sure what to think of this one. A new study from Psychological Science says messy desks are a sign of creativity. But what happens if you can’t find anything? Are creativity and productivity at cross purposes?

I’m a big fan of Dr. Daniel Goleman’s works. He’s written some of the most referenced pieces on leadership during our time. His latest is a compilation of those articles. A must-have for any manager.

Thanks for reading HR Bartender. Cheers!

Oh, and P.S. for those of you who are fans of LinkedIn, HR Bartender is on LinkedIn now. Hope you’ll follow the blog over there.
