Tomorrow (October 8) is Emergency Nurses Day. It was founded by the Emergency Nurses Association to promote the work of individuals in this field of work. Emergency nurses provide critical care when it’s most needed.
After our car accident years ago, Mr. Bartender and I were fortunate to have a terrific team of nurses and doctors tend to our care. It was their attention and expertise that helped us recover quickly.
Our friends at Kronos recognize the importance of emergency care and have released the second webisode in their “1 in 100 Million” video series. This month features Vanessa Barrett, a level-three trauma center nurse.

Vanessa’s message about continuous learning was truly inspiring. I also liked how the video incorporated both her professional and personal lives. In order to be successful, we have to focus on more than just the tasks we’re assigned. It’s about being dedicated to our chosen profession, keeping our skills current, and maintaining a healthy outlook.
