3 Great Blogs @HRBartender is Reading Right Now

One of my friends recently asked, “I’m working on a presentation. What are some good training blogs out there?” The answer: there are lots! But here are three I’m really enjoying right now:

Learning in the Social Workplace – Jane Hart is an independent advisor and founder of the Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies. And she’s über smart. Jane’s blog is talking about the future of the learning and development function. Really giving us new ways to think about our role as learning professionals. Check out her post on “3 emerging services of the L&D Department” and “Modernizing the L&D function: From learning gatekeeper to learning concierge”.

Misadventures in Learning – David Kelly is a training director and performance consultant. He’s also very tuned into the relationship between training, learning and social media. He talks about the intersection of training and technology often. I especially enjoy his posts about backchannels as a learning tool. His recent post about Google Glass as a learning technology is a must read.

The Rapid eLearning BlogTom Kuhlmann is the vice president of community at Articulate, the eLearning software company. His blog offers practical tips and resources for professionals who are designing and building eLearning programs. Tom is very giving with his expertise as evidenced by blog posts like “3 Rules When Selecting Fonts for Your Online Training Course” and “Celebrate Summer with This FREE PowerPoint eLearning Template”.

If you’re looking for good reading in the training and learning space, you can’t go wrong with these blogs. You can also follow them on Twitter: Tom Kuhlmann, David Kelly and Jane Hart. Enjoy!
