Workforce Insanity – Albert Einstein Edition [Friday Distraction]
One of Albert Einstein’s most famous quotes is about the definition of insanity being “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Today’s Time Well Spent cartoon from Kronos reminds us of just that.
As business pros, we can’t be afraid to try to new things when the old way isn’t working. Will the new process or procedure work? Maybe…maybe not. But it’s gotta be better than dealing with insanity.
“That’s the way we’ve always done it.”
“You don’t know how much trouble we had getting this policy approved. We can’t change it.”
“You’ll eventually figure out how to work around it. It just takes time.”
These are not problem solving tactics. They’re avoidance maneuvers. Moving the business forward means moving past a little insanity.
