Whenever we’re working on a project, something unexpected will surely come up. And the answer is usually, “do this” for now and we’ll take care of it later. Which is fine, if we really take care of it later.
Our friends at Kronos reminded me of that with this Time Well Spent cartoon. It can be very easy to say “just work a couple extra hours”. Before you know it, overtime is out of control.
We have to make a mental note of those temporary fixes because at some point we need to really address them. Before they bring our project to a screeching halt – both literally and figuratively.
