The 7 Links Project – The Best of HRB

Over a year ago, I wrote a post titled “7 Links Challenge” in response to a piece on ProBlogger.  I always find those things fun.  It makes me reflect on the posts I’ve written and gives me a chance to share them with you in a different way.

Recently, another blog I read called Buck$ome Boomer: Money and Life on the Way to Retirement, did their version of the 7 Links Challenge.  The challenge was different and the end goal was to tag other bloggers, but I had fun the last time so I decided to jump in and do another 7 Links post (but without the blog tag.)  I know, I’ve changed the whole thing but that’s the fun of blogging, kinda doing your own thing.

So here were the 7 links from the Bucksome Boomer post.

  1. My Most Beautiful Post…A Letter to My Younger Self.  A group of us decided to each write a post with this title.  Truth be told, I wasn’t super thrilled about it at first.  But the more I thought about it and the more I wrote, it became very personal.  Everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime.
  2. My Most Popular Post…continues to be 7 Types of Power in the Workplace.  The topic of workplace power is fascinating and intriguing.  Power isn’t something to avoid.  It’s about understanding it and using it properly.
  3. My Most Controversial Post…The Real Reason for Exit Interviews.  I wouldn’t say it was controversial from a negative standpoint, but it definitely sparked a lot of comments and great discussion.
  4. My Most Helpful Post…I enjoy writing “lessons learned” posts.  They’re fun and prove the point that you can learn from almost anything.  Two of my faves are Lessons Learned from My GPS and 5 Business Lessons from Watching Mythbusters.
  5. A Post Whose Success Surprised Me…posts about customer service seem to be quite common.  I had no idea 3 Levels of Customer Service would be shared so much!
  6. A Post I Didn’t Feel Got the Attention it Deserved… Being Strategic and Creating Strategy Aren’t the Same Thing. As a human resources pro, we are constantly talking about strategy and being strategic.
  7. The Post I’m Most Proud of…while I’m proud of everything I write, Finding Your Rocky Horror was a good one.  It represents a very carefree and rebellious time in my life.  While I wouldn’t want to return to it, I’m glad to have had the experience.
