Happy Saint Patty’s Day

Today is St. Patrick’s Day.  Regardless of your heritage, you probably know that it’s a holiday that’s become about celebrating the Irish, wearing green, eating green bagels and drinking green beer.  Not that’s there is anything wrong with that, of course…but did you know:

St. Patrick’s Day is recognized around the world with large celebrations in Canada, Argentina, Great Britain, South Korea, Japan and New Zealand.

I’m a little bummed that I’m away from home on St. Patty’s Day.  Mr. B and I like to celebrate.  But, I’ll be in the Washington DC area participating in a focus group on human resources and social media.  And, I will have friends with me.  Also on this trip are some fellow HR bloggers who I’ll be hanging with so, it should be a great time:

Ben Eubanks, UpStart HR

Denise Henderson, HR Exploration

John Jorgensen, HR Tailgate

Victorio Milian, Creative Chaos Consultant

Jessica Miller-Merrell, Blogging4Jobs

Mike VanDervort, The Human Race Horses

Bryan Wempen, Mending the Soul of Business

While I’m off for a few, I want to wish you Beannacht Lá Fhéile Pádraig and leave you with a picture of my latest indulgence.  It’s called an Irish Car Bomb doughnut (named for the cocktail) from the Nickel Diner in downtown Los Angeles.  It’s a doughnut with Guinness crumble and Jameson-infused cream filling.  Delish!

I had never heard of the drink Irish Car Bomb but looking at the ingredients, it looks like it packs a whallop!  Celebrate responsibly, my friends.
