7 Links Challenge

I saw a fun post over at ProBlogger last week.  It was a challenge to publish the links to 7 posts that answer certain questions/statements.  If you want to see the original post, you can check it out here.

It looked like great fun and so I thought I’d participate.  Sometimes we all need to just do something different, right?  So I took a couple days to noodle my responses and here’s my list:

  1. My first post was titled “Actions Not Words”.  It’s amazing we’re still having the same conversations two years later.
  2. The post I enjoyed writing the most was “If Your Marketing Director Ran HR…”.  I believe there’s a connection between human resources and marketing.  HR professionals should look for synergies and opportunities from their counterparts.
  3. A post which had a great discussion was “Talent Ownership”.  This post explores who owns talent in your organization and how it relates to employee engagement.
  4. A post on someone else’s blog that I wish I’d written is “Being an expert takes time, not talent” by Penelope Trunk.  Besides going into the definition of an expert, it’s a well-written story.  Everyone will want to have their own ‘article story’ after reading it.
  5. My most helpful post (at least I think it was helpful) was “My Favorite Interview Question”.  In the post’s comments, you’ll find a great list of interview questions by the people who ask them.
  6. A post with a title that I’m proud of is “The Scoop on Being Vanilla”.  I’ll let you check it out and decide for yourself.
  7. A post I wish more people had read was “Ethics”.  It’s something we deal with – whether we want to admit it or not.  We shouldn’t shy away from talking about it.

Well, there ya go!  I hope you enjoy the list as much as I did reminiscing about my blogging.  If you have a favorite HRB post, leave a comment – I’d really love to hear from you. Many thanks and grateful cheers for reading and supporting HR Bartender.

P.S.  While it was nice to stroll down memory lane putting together this post, I also want to share something hot off the presses.  Brazen Careerist and Corn on the Job teamed up to publish an eBook titled “What I Know About Getting a Job”.  It’s a wonderful compilation of career advice stories and HR Bartender was honored to be one of the contributors.  You can download your free copy but clicking on the cover image below.  Hope you’ll check it out – the advice is timeless.  And be sure to share it with your friends!
