Rocks . . No Salt
We’ve all heard the research that tells us we need to take vacations to stay refreshed. And, the studies that indicate we shouldn’t eat at our desks. Stepping away for lunch can actually make us healthier.
In looking up the history of the margarita, I found that this drink has quite an obscure history. The claims about who invented the margarita range from the obvious (a woman named Margarita) to it being the result of a mistake (the person was trying to make a Magnolia.) Regardless of who invented this tasty beverage, its versatility continues to make it one of the most popular bar beverages around.
Ready to celebrate? Well to get you started, here’s a recipe for a “Tin Can” margarita (Compliments of Emeril Lagasse). Of course there are a variety of ways to enjoy this drink…my personal preference is rocks, no salt. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips and salsa.
Naturally, to relax, we don’t require a special day of honor for our favorite cocktail. But isn’t it nice that some wise folks did this for us? Cheers!
