My Christmas Present

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that my company is in the process of buying another business.  Well, I’m happy to say that closing day is approaching and I wanted to share with you my excitement about this new venture.

When I joined the world of entrepreneurship and consulting, I never imagined that I’d actually be buying a company.  I figured that’s what rich people do and I certainly don’t fall into that category by any means.  And I wouldn’t have thought I’d be taking this on during the worst recession in modern times.

But it just goes to show you, even during a down economy, great opportunities can present themselves.  In my day job, ITM Group focuses on training and human resources consulting.  The company we are acquiring, Solutions Management, offers leadership development programs.  It’s a perfect fit.

Over the past few months, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with a kind and knowledgeable seller.  We’ve had a small handful of wonderful attorneys take us through this process.  And, I want to give props to Bank of America…because without them, this wouldn’t be possible.

So, Mr. Bartender and I don’t have any presents under the tree this year.  I guess we could roll up the Purchase Agreement and Business Loan paperwork and put them in our stockings.  But, we have so much more.  We’re blessed to have family, friends, colleagues and clients who encourage us personally, and support our business, this blog and the rest of our crazy ideas.

Thanks to all of you, my loyal readers, for the kind words and support.  That means so much.  I couldn’t ask for a better Christmas present.
