A couple weeks ago I asked you which term you preferred – employees or associates. I must admit, the results were a bit surprising. The majority of respondents said employee and associate are the same thing.
The surprising part was the gap between the actual terms “employee” and “associate” [click graph to enlarge].
The comments on this post focused on corporate culture and mutual respect. I totally agree. I’d even add that there’s an argument to be made that job titles and corporate nomenclature are mostly just marketing tools.
But one thing is certain: whether it’s team member, outfitter, or crew, the people who work at your company want a title they can be proud of.0
