I've always heard that history repeats itself. Unfortunately this issue isn't an exception. I'm in my early 20s and i can tell that there has been an uprising with this issue. Its unfortunate but true.

Everyone should learn to appreciate our differences. Thanks for posting.

The Detroit area, where I live and work, is one of the most racially divided areas in the country, thanks to a whole laundry list of reasons.

But I was encouraged by reading your post today, and then going to a seminar on strategic change management hosted by my local SHRM chapter. Of the 100 or so attendees, it was a pretty ethnically diverse bunch. We had lots of men AND women, and many of the women were African-American. There were no African-American men, but things are definitely changing. I think a lot of that has to do with an economy that has thrown everyone together on the bread line - or a step away.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

@RMSJr. – Agreed. In order to listen, you have to open your mind to what the other person has to say. Thanks for commenting!

@Grace – Thanks for commenting. Sounds like you work at a pretty cool place.

I agree with you. That is one of my favorite things about where I work. We are incredibly diverse as a whole.
