Next week is St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday rich in history and tradition. If you think this celebration is all about green bagels and beer, I’d suggest checking out the Wikipedia page for more info.
Mr. B and I typically like to find some sports bar or pub to celebrate. But this year I’ll be in San Diego at ERE Expo Spring 2010. We’ll have a belated toast when I return.
In the meantime, tell me how you’ll be spending the holiday. Got any St. Paddy’s traditions? Tell me your plans in the comments or on the HR Bartender Facebook page so I can live vicariously though you.
And, let me leave you with a little Irish blessing:
May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,
May good luck pursue you each morning and night.
Cheers!

Hi! I'm Sharlyn Lauby, an HR pro turned consultant. I created the HR Bartender blog so people would have a friendly place to discuss workplace issues. And since, over the years, I've developed an appreciation for the culinary arts (translation: I'm a Foodie) you'll see some of that here too. So, pull up a stool and order your favorite drink . . . the bar is always open.

You should find a good pub in San Diego and scout it out for SHRM 10. Have a safe trip.
I wish I could say I will be doing something exciting, but I’m not. Downtown Chicago is always a good time though with the green river.
@John – Will do!
@Chris – Never seen the green river…I’ll have to put it on my bucket list.
I will be in DC for the SHRM Legal/Legislative update so I am not sure how much celebrating I’ll be doing. My husband is in the corned beef business (yes, we manufacture it) so St. Pat’s day is actually a day of rest because the month before is the busiest time of the year.
Thanks for the comment Joan. I hope you’re enjoying the SHRM conference. I love a good corned beef sandwich…I’ll have to see if I can find one here in San Diego.
