I always think of July as the mid-point of the year…well, because it is…and because it’s a good time to take a pulse on what I’ve accomplished so far and refocus my energies for the remainder of the year. Along with the Independence Day holiday, it’s a perfect time for reflection about what’s important.
One thing that’s tremendously important is leadership – having good leadership within your organization and being a good leader to those around you. Dan McCarthy just published the latest Leadership Development Carnival over at his blog, Great Leadership. Check it out when you have a moment. It’s a terrific collection of articles on the subject.
My thanks to Dan for including HR Bartender in the list. Cheers!

Hi! I'm Sharlyn Lauby, an HR pro turned consultant. I created the HR Bartender blog so people would have a friendly place to discuss workplace issues. And since, over the years, I've developed an appreciation for the culinary arts (translation: I'm a Foodie) you'll see some of that here too. So, pull up a stool and order your favorite drink . . . the bar is always open.
