HR Bartender is pleased to let you know that we were included in two Carnivals this week! They are the Carnival of HR, hosted by G.Neil’s HR Forum and the Leadership Development Carnival, hosted by Dan McCarthy at Great Leadership.
Being included in a Carnival is a very special occasion which is why, when HR Bartender is mentioned, I write a post about it. If you’re not familiar with Carnivals, they’re compilations of blog posts. In the blogging community, someone will host the Carnival (which is a big job!) and bloggers submit what they consider to be their best posts. Recent stuff, nothing usually over 2 weeks old. The host reviews the submissions and selects the crème de la crème to be included in the actual Carnival post.
For the bloggers involved, they get peer recognition. To have another respected blogger recognize your work is pretty darn cool.
And for the reader, there are several advantages:
Great content. In one post, you get exposed to top notch content and resources. If you’re looking for the latest information…look no further than a Carnival.
New resources. I’ve discovered several terrific bloggers, like Wally Bock and LeaderTalk, through Carnivals. Who isn’t looking for new tools to make their jobs easier?
Single location. Let’s face it, sometimes it’s a challenge to keep up with all of the information out there. It happens to me too. Instead of feeling guilty about deleting all those unread posts, catch up by reading a Carnival and get back into the routine.
So use the Carnival to your benefit…there’s a lot of terrific information being shared. Again, my thanks to G.Neil and Dan McCarthy for including the Bartender. Cheers and happy reading!

Hi! I'm Sharlyn Lauby, an HR pro turned consultant. I created the HR Bartender blog so people would have a friendly place to discuss workplace issues. And since, over the years, I've developed an appreciation for the culinary arts (translation: I'm a Foodie) you'll see some of that here too. So, pull up a stool and order your favorite drink . . . the bar is always open.
