I haven’t played a game of tag in awhile so when I was tagged by Asha Treacy (@asha2) … I was honored. While I know some folks view blog tag as a pain, I think it’s kinda cool. I enjoy reading about the people who are tagged and take it as a compliment to be included. As Asha mentions in her post, “it’s networking at its best.”
For those of you who aren’t familiar with tag, here are the rules. You write 25 things about yourself then tag 25 peeps that you would like to know more about. For those of you who don’t blog, you can post a note on Facebook. It’s easy – just click on your profile and go to notes under tabs, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish. Don’t forget to cross-post on your blog, Twitter or somewhere similar that your friends can find.
Coming up with 25 new things was quite the challenge…but here goes:
- My favorite flavor and scent is vanilla.
- Very excited to be speaking at the SHRM Annual Conference in New Orleans. My presentation is on strategic planning. Hope to see you there.
- I’m totally addicted to Wordscraper on Facebook. Challenge me anytime.
- My dying meal would be a bacon cheeseburger. And a vanilla milkshake.
- A few of my favorite quotes are here, here, and here.
- I’m really into wearing black stones – onyx, hematite and black crystals.
- I have a scar on my face that I’m very self-conscious about. Most people tell me it looks like a dimple…
- My idea of camping is when a hotel doesn’t offer 24-hour room service.
- I really wish I could speak better Spanish. I’ve taken classes but never have anyone to practice with.
- I haven’t been on a trip in over two months…and it’s killing me. I love to travel! Lucky for me I have a trip scheduled every month for the rest of the year.
- My eye glasses are a part of who I am (so I like for them to stand out). I’ve been wearing glasses since first grade.
- My father used to call me Charlie. For the longest time, I had relatives who actually thought it was my given name.
- Really enjoy writing guest posts on other blogs. So far, I’ve written for Business Pundit and Mashable.
- I don’t know how to operate the grill or mow the lawn. That’s Mr. Bartender’s job.
- I started out in college as an accounting major. Did great in financial accounting but hated cost accounting. Ended up as a political science major with a minor in business. It’s served me well.
- Before starting my consulting firm, I interviewed consultants for advice. It’s great preparation for going out on your own.
- I think graffiti is a form of art.
- I have a 2-page resume.
- I’m considering getting my Black Belt in Six Sigma. Let me know your thoughts on this.
- People ask what it’s like to manage 2 Twitter accounts (hrbartender and Sharlyn_Lauby). It’s fun having an alter ego!
- I’ve worn braces three times.
- I’m über organized. My secret is to have 2 pendaflex folders – one with the months of the year and the other numbered 1-31. What I’m working on for the month goes in the 1-31 sections. File rest by months. It keeps distractions off my desk.
- Enjoy learning new social networking applications. My latest is Plurk. You can find me at Sharlyn_Lauby.
- I’ve been asked to speak this summer on social media for HR Pros. Looking for best practices to share. Please contact me if you have ideas!
- I’ve entered a blog post contest over at The Talent Buzz. The post is about thinking outside the box. Please be sure to check it out and vote for me.
Now that you’ve read all about me…it’s time for the fun part. Here’s who I’m tagging:
